1 WESTWARD BOUND / LOUISVILLE:
We start journey this morning traveling through the beautiful mountains of West Virginia and into the Horse Country of Kentucky where we will spend the night near Louisville.
2 ST. LOUIS ARCH / KANSAS CITY:
We depart our hotel this morning and continue West arriving in St. Louis where you will enjoy a ride to the top of the St. Louis Arch, also known as the Gateway to the West! After taking in the breathtaking scenery from the top of the Arch, we continue westto the Kansas City area for the night.
3 FRONTIER TRAILS CENTER / PLATTE RIVER ROAD ARCHWAY:
We begin our day by visiting the National Frontier Tails Center. This is the only museum in the nation devoted to the three great western routes: the Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails. Tonight, we will visit the Great Platte River Road Archway. This archway built overtop of I-80 is best described as a splashy, brassy history museum that uses film, computer graphics, light and sound, life size dioramas, re-enactors, and classic cars to document over 150 years of transportation and communication in America. This archway brings the Westward migration to life! You will also be treated to a buffet dinner here. We will overnight near Kearney, NE.
4 CHEYENNE / CASPER:
This morning we make our way to Cheyenne, Wyoming where you will be able to enjoy some free time on your own for lunch and shopping. Afterward, we will make our way to Casper, WY where we will spend the night.
5 GRIZZLY DISCOVERY CENTER / WEST YELLOWSTONE:
We depart Casper this morning, traveling thorough the beautiful state of Wyoming before entering Montana where we will spend the next 2 nights in West Yellowstone. This evening we will visit the Grizzly Discovery Center where we will watch bears and wolves in their natural environment. Tonight, you will be treated to dinner at a local restaurant.
6 YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK:
Our day will be a full day consisting of a guided tour of Yellowstone National Park. Being over 100 years old we will enjoy the natural beauty of and geologic oddities including, Old Faithful! America’s first and oldest National Park is sure to make a fun filled, scenic day!
7 PARADISE CAVE / SMOKEJUMPERS / MISSOULA:
Our first stop this morning will be Paradise Cave in Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park. This is Montana’s first and best-known state park featuring one of the most decorated limestone caverns in the Northwest. After lunch, you will visit the Smokejumpers Ariel Fire Depot in Missoula, MT for a unique glimpse into this dangerous profession before checking into our Missoula area hotel for the next 2 nights. Dinner will be provided tonight at a local restaurant.
8 YELLOWSTONE SERIES FILM SITE TOUR:
Today, we will get to see filming sites for the hit show “Yellowstone”. We Start our day in Darby, MT where we see Chief Joseph Ranch from a distance. This is the site of the Yellowstone Ranch, home of the Dutton family on the show. Then we stop at Double H Custom Hat Company before we spend some time at the Hidden Legends Winery for a tour and tasting. After lunch, our tour continues as we see Glen’s Café, community Medical Center and other famous filming locations including the “Train Station”. Tonight, dinner will be provided for you at the Montana Club.
9 FLATHEAD LAKE / KALISPELL:
We depart Missoula this morning and make our way to the Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana. This unique museum offers hundreds of western plains and Indian items that depict the past lives of the tribes in Montana. After lunch, we will enjoy a sightseeing cruise on Flathead Lake before continuing onto Kalispell, MT where we will spend the next 2 nights. Dinner will be provided for you tonight at the Mercantile Steak Restaurant.
10 GLACIER NATIONAL PARK:
Today we will be joined by a local guide for a tour of Glacier National Park. With its many alpine meadows, deep forest, waterfalls, 25 glistening glaciers, and 200 sparkling lakes and abundant wildlife, this park is more than Breathtaking! While inside the park, you will also board the “Red Jammer” for a tour of “Going-to-the-sun-road”. This 50- mile engineering marvel is one of the most scenic highways in America. Dinner will be included tonight at a local restaurant.
11 BILLINGS:
We depart our hotel this morning and make our way to Billings, Montana where we will spend some time on Historic Montana Avenue. Here you will find great music, art galleries, dancing, theatres, antiques and local shops. Historic Montana Avenue bustles during the day and shines at night. We will overnight near Billings.
12 DAYS OF 76 MUSEUM / DEADWOOD:
This morning we will depart Montana and make our way to Deadwood South Dakota. Along the way, we will visit the trail of 76 Museum which is one of the most complete collection of wagons, antiques, and artifacts in the Black Hills. We will spend the next two nights in Deadwood.
13 MOUNT RUSHMORE / CRAZYHORSE:
Today, we will tour the Black Hills with a local guide. First, we visit Mount Rushmore, the famous mountain cliff carved with the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. This afternoon, we will visit the Crazy House Memorial before treating you to dinner at the Laughing Waters restaurant.
14 CORN PALACE / SIOUX FALLS:
We depart the Black Hills this morning and make our way to Mitchell, SD where we will visit the Corn Place. This Moorish Revival building is decorated with crop art made from corn and other grains. We will overnight in the Sioux Falls area.
15 DEVENPORT:
We continue our way back east today traveling through Iowa passing through Sioux city and Cedar Rapids before arriving in Davenport. We will enjoy dinner at the Machine Shed Restaurant. This café, decorated with farm tools, serves up hearty family style American – meals. We will overnight in Davenport.
16 JOHN DEERE PAVILION / INDIANAPOLIS:
This morning we make our way to Moline, Illinois where we will visit the John Deere Pavilion. This area landmark opened in 1997 as part of an urban renewal project. This is the official visitors center of John Deere that is located just a few blocks away. This afternoon we will make our way to Indianapolis, Indiana where we will spend the night.
17 HOMEWARD BOUND
After breakfast we depart our hotel heading home traveling back through Kentucky and West Virginia with all our wonderful memories of the beauty of Wyoming and Montana!
