Michie Tavern served as the social center of its community and accommodated travelers with food, drink and lodging back in the 1700’s. Located next to Monticello, this Virginia Landmark captures 18th-century life. Here we will enjoy a Midday Fare in the Tavern’s dining in a rustic tavern setting served by characters dressed in Period attire.
Monticello was the primary plantation of Thomas Jefferson, a Founding Father and the third president of the United States, who began designing Monticello after inheriting land from his father at age 14. The name Monticello derives from Italian meaning “little mountain”.
