1 SOUTHWARD BOUND / SAVANNAH
On our way south we travel through North Carolina, South Carolina and into Georgia. We arrive this evening to spend the next two nights in the Savannah area with it’s many shops and restaurants along the cobblestone pathways by the Savannah River.
2 SAVANNAH CITY TOUR / SAVANNAH RIVER CRUISE
Today we visit the Savannah History Museum to see the past and present of this historic city. Here we meet our local guide for a tour of the City’s Historic District and Riverfront areas. This afternoon we enjoy a leisurely Cruise along the Savannah River and the beautiful surroundings of this charming city.
3 ST. SIMON ISLAND / JEKYLL ISLAND
This morning we depart for a tour of St. Simon’s Island. We will see the colonial town of Fort Frederica, one of the largest and most expensive forts ever built by the British in North America. We have time to wander through the village streets and shop in the quaint stores. We will have time to visit the St. Simon’s Lighthouse, Christ Church and Maritime Center. Dinner tonight will be provided at Iguanas Restaurant, we will spend the next two nights on Jekyll Island.
4 JEKYLL ISLAND
We begin our day with a local guide that will take us through the Jekyll Island Historic District with ten miles of sparking beaches and oak graced beauty. Our tour will include a tram ride through the historic district and a delicious lunch at the Jekyll Island Hotel. After lunch we will visit the Hofwyl Plantation with its sweeping views of the Altamaha River Delta. We will enjoy time at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center before heading back to our hotel for the evening.
5 CHARLESTON / CITY TOUR
This morning we head to Charleston, South Carolina stopping along the way at Charleston Tea Garden. Here you will be treated to a tour and lunch In Charleston we have a guided tour of this beautiful city including The Battery’s Historic Sights as well as the Market where local merchants sell their crafts. We spend the next two nights in Charleston.
6 CHARLESTON / FORT SUMTER / MAGNOLIA GARDENS
Our day begins with a cruise to Historic Fort Sumter where the first shots of the Civil War were fired. In the afternoon we visit Charleston’s famous plantation – Magnolia Gardens. Tonight you will be treated to dinner at “Hyman’s Seafood”.
7 HOMEWARD BOUND
We begin our journey home remembering it all – from the Sandy Beaches to the Historic Cities, we will return home with fond memories of Charleston, Savannah & Jekyll Island.
