1 WESTWARD BOUND/ TENNESSEE / ALABAMA / MISSISSIPPI
We start our Tour as we go by Knoxville and Chattanooga, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama. We stop at the Alabama Welcome Center before spending the night in Meridian, Mississippi.
2 NEW ORLEANS / NATCHEZ STEAMBOAT/ BATON ROUGE
We leave Meridian and head straight across Lake Pontchartrain to the Fun City of New Orleans. We arrive in New Orleans at noon for some time in The French Quarter, on Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. We enjoy a Delightful Cruise on the Mississippi River aboard the Natchez Stern Wheeler Steamboat before spending the night in the State Capital – Baton Rouge.
3 TEXAS / SPACE CENTER HOUSTON / HOUSTON
Our journey today takes us into the Lone Star State of Texas where we visit Space Center Houston with its many exhibits and displays on our Country’s Space Exploration Program. Then we make our way into the “Big City” of Houston to spend the night.
4 SAN ANTONIO / THE ALAMO / RIVERWALK
Today our Tour really gets in high gear as we leave Houston and start through TEXAS the way you saw it in the Old Westerns. We arrive in San Antonio and watch the IMAX Movie “Alamo: The Price of Freedom.” After watching the film, we will enjoy a self-guided tour of The Alamo. This evening we will enjoy a river cruise in the San Antonio River Walk area before spending the night in San Antonio.
5 SAN ANTONIO / WEST TEXAS / EL PASO
We leave San Antonio and head to “The West Texas Town of El Paso”. We realize today how huge Texas really is as we go through the Oil Rich West Texas Area. We spend the night near El Paso.
6 NEW MEXICO / ARIZONA
We leave El Paso and go through New Mexico into Arizona. As we go through the Desert, we are constantly aware of the different scenery that we are not accustomed to at home. We stop for the afternoon in historic Tombstone, Arizona before spending the night in Tempe, AZ.
7 CALIFORNIA / SAN DIEGO
We leave Tempe this morning and head out through the Desert for CALIFORNIA! We spend the night in Old Town San Diego.
8 SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO MISSION / MARINA DEL REY
This morning we visit Balboa Park for a guided tour. On our way to Los Angeles we visit the Old Mission at San Juan Capistrano where the Swallows return each year on March 19th. We spend the next two nights at Marina del Rey in Los Angeles.
9 LA CITY TOUR / HOLLYWOOD
Today we have a Local Guide ride with us on the Motor coach and give us a Tour of Los Angeles. This will include Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Rodeo Drive, The Farmer’s Market, Downtown “LA” and other points of interest in this “City of Angels”.
10 LOS ANGELES / UNIVERSAL STUDIOS / LAS VEGAS
We enjoy our last day in Los Angeles as we go to Universal Studios for a visit to their theme park based on the movie and television industry. While we are at Universal, we also take the Universal Studios Tram Tour to see some of the tricks used in making your favorite movie. After a day at Universal we head to Las Vegas for the next two nights. We arrive late in Las Vegas, Nevada where the Excitement and Glitter never sleeps!
11 LAS VEGAS / HOOVER DAM / LAKE MEAD
This morning we will travel to Hoover Dam, an engineering marvel named for Herbert Hoover, the 31st president of the United States. Hoover Dam is a high concrete dam on the Colorado River that controls the river, provides irrigation water to the rich farmlands nearby, and is a dependable supply of water for Southern California communities. The dam forms Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the United States, measured by water capacity. We return to Las Vegas for the afternoon and night.
12 THE GRAND CANYON
This morning we leave Las Vegas and travel to what is considered to be The Greatest Natural Attraction in North America – THE GRAND CANYON! Then on to Flagstaff, Arizona for the night.
13 OAK CREEK CANYON / SEDONA / THE PETRIFIED FOREST / THE PAINTED DESERT
We leave Flagstaff and head down through Oak Creek Canyon to the Beautiful Town of Sedona, Arizona. When you look at the Canyon, it looks so familiar – then you realize that you have seen the Huge Mesas and Buttes many times in the Old Western Movies. After spending some time in Sedona, we go through The Petrified Forest and by The Painted Desert, into Gallup, New Mexico to spend the night.
14 GALLUP / OLD TOWN ALBUQUERQUE / TEXAS
This morning we continue through Indian Country into Albuquerque, New Mexico. We stop for lunch and shopping in Old Town. We then head into the Panhandle of Texas to spend the night in Amarillo.
15 OKLAHOMA CITY / COWBOY HALL OF FAME
Today we stop in Oklahoma City to Tour the Cowboy Hall of Fame. This Oil Rich City even has an Oil Well on the Capitol Grounds. While in Oklahoma City we visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial Site. We spend the night in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
16 ARKANSAS / MEMPHIS / MISSISSIPPI RIVER
This morning we head toward Arkansas and Tennessee. Along the way we will visit the capitol in Little Rock. We overnight in Memphis.
17 TENNESSEE / HOMEWARD BOUND
This morning we leave Memphis and head Home through Nashville, Knoxville and Bristol, Tennessee with all of our Beautiful Western Memories.
