1 SHENANDOAH VALLEY / BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS
We leave today and make our way through the Shenandoah Valley and into the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where we spend the night in Wytheville
2 NORTH CAROLINA / SOUTH CAROLINA / GEORGIA
Today we head south leaving the cold winter weather behind us. On our way to the Sunshine State, we go through North Carolina and South Carolina and spend the night in Kingsland, Georgia.
3 THE SUNSHINE STATE / ST. AUGUSTINE
This morning we stop at the Florida Welcome Center on our way to St. Augustine – the Oldest City in the USA! We have a guided tour of this historic city including the Fountain of Youth and after having lunch and time for shopping we make our way to our hotel for the night near Titusville.
4 KENNEDY SPACE CENTER / MIAMI
Today we take the Kennedy Space Center Tour to see the site that we have seen on TV so many times as we have watched with great excitement and anticipation the launching of spacecraft. We then head to Miami to spend the night near this beautiful city.
5 KEY WEST
We enjoy a spectacular drive through the Florida Keys today beside the most beautiful waters this side of Hawaii. At Islamorada, we pick up a Local Guide who will be with us for the remaining 83 miles and will tell us about the history of the Florida Keys. Later we will arrive in Key West – the Southernmost Point in the USA. We will spend the night in Key West.
6 KEY WEST
This morning we continue to enjoy the beautiful scenery in Key West including a tour of Ernest Hemmingway’s Home. You will have the afternoon free to enjoy Key West on our last night here.
7 ALLIGATOR ALLEY / THOMAS EDISON’S WINTER HOME/ FORT MYERS
Our day starts with an Airboat Ride at Miccosukee Indian Village. After lunch, we tour Thomas Edison’s Winter Home in Fort Myers and the Laboratory and Workshops where he perfected many of his early inventions. We will also visit a museum containing a large collection of these early inventions and his Tropical Gardens. We spend the night in Fort Myers.
8 SUNSHINE SKYWAY BRIDGE / BUSCH GARDENS / TAMPA
On our way to Tampa we cross the beautiful Sunshine Skyway Bridge for a spectacular view of the cities of St. Petersburg and Tampa. In Tampa, we will visit the 355 acres 19th Century African-Themed Animal Theme Park, Busch Gardens. We overnight in Tampa.
9 TAMPA / KINGSLAND, GEORGIA
This morning we will stop at a local fruit stand to buy a bit of Florida Sunshine to take home with us. Our destination for the night in Kingsland, Georgia.
10 SOUTH AND NORTH CAROLINA
Today we head through the Carolinas we will be stopping in Wytheville for the final night!
11 HOMEWARD BOUND / SOUTH AND NORTH CAROLINA
Today we head for home going back through the Carolinas warm from the Florida Sunshine and ready for Spring!
